Yeah, fuck those bastards and their razor thin profit margins that prevent them from actually making money on the movies they screen because of the Hollywood machine so they have to overcharge for food in order to stay in business.
Pretty much any dollar store sells movie theater candy for a buck if people are that uptight about buying anything at the theater. However, I do love that movie theater popcorn so it’s worth paying the extra money for after I already spent 10 on a movie. I bring my own drink. And my theater has a movie card that when you use it, you’ll get free rewards so sometimes I get a free drink or a free movie ticket so I’m not being completely screwed over. Besides, if a movie is worth it, who needs to complain about anything else?
Since I work at a movie theater: a theater gets barely/if any money off of the tickets being sold, that money goes straight to the movie company. The theater’s revenue is made off of its concession stand. Therefore, the prices have to be high for the theater to actually stay open, keep updated, repairs (a lot of shit breaks all the time), pay employees and actually make money.
Yeah I agree that concession stands are over-priced, but I wouldn’t have a job if popcorn did not cost $8.00.
